Sweden's Tele2 launches GSM 1800 network in Russia's Lipetsk
MOSCOW, June 30 (Prime-Tass) -- Swedish mobile operator Tele2 has launched a GSM 1800 network in Lipetsk, the company said in a statement Friday.
Tele2 operates in the Lipetsk Region through its fully owned subsidiary Lipetsk Mobile, which operates in the AMPS/DAMPS standard in the region.
Tele2, established in 1993, is an alternative telecommunications operator of Europe. Tele2 has services in 25 countries. In Russia, Tele2 holds controlling stakes in 14 mobile operators based in St. Petersburg and the constituent republic of Udmurtia, as well as in the Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Kursk, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Smolensk and Voronezh regions
