Russia/Venezuela one billion US dollars arms deal

Russia's Defence minister announced Friday a deal to sell Venezuela over a billion US dollars in jet fighters and military helicopters. "The deal has been closed for the delivery of 30 Sujoi Su-30 jet fighters and for an equal number of helicopters" announced Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov adding the contract involved over a billion US dollars. Matsushita to start TV production unit in Russia

Moscow, July 22: Japan's Osaka-based Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, the world's largest consumer electronics manufacturer and top supplier of plasma TV sets, has announced its decision to start a production unit of liquid crystal display (LCD) TV sets in Russia. Matsushita intends to launch its production unit of Panasonic LCD TV sets this September but the company is not in a hurry to disclose where the future enterprise is to be located.
