Russian army to receive 60 Iskander theatre missile systems

Under a draft 2007-2015 Federal Armament Program, 60 Iskander theatre missile systems will enter service with the Russian army by 2015. They will be fielded with five missile brigades. Today KBM (Kolomna-based Engineering Design Bureau) is pursuing an aggressive marketing strategy topromote the Iskander-E to the world market. Talks with several customers, including the Middle East countries, on Iskander-E deliveries are under way. One export contract to supply the Iskander-E missile system has been secured.

Theatre missile system of XXI century

KBM (Kolomna-based Engineering Design Bureau) has developed a theatre missile system, the Iskander-E, complying with the Missile Technology Control Regime requirements. Demonstration of weapons and military equipment at Geodezia firing range

Within the IDELF-2006 International Defense Exhibition, demonstration of the capabilities of land forces’ armaments and military equipment, which Rosoboronexport offers to foreign customers, has been conducted at the federal public enterprise NII Geodezia’s firing range in Krasnoarmeisk, near Moscow.
