Production of Russian truck KAMAZ pilot in Iran

LONDON, May 15 (IranMania) - Pilot production of the Russian-made truck KAMAZ started in Iran, ISNA news agency reported.

The KAMAZ production line will be officially inaugurated in Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, on May 31, the managing director of the Iranian automaker Rakhsh Khodro Diesel announced.

Forming a joint venture, Iran's Rakhsh Khodro Diesel and Russia?s KAMAZ respectively own 55% and 45% of the shares of the auto manufacturing company.

They signed the second-largest deal between Iran and Russia, standing after the Bushehr Power Plant contract, Akbar Mirza-Hosseini added.

According to him, the contract was valued at $300 mln. 

A number of officials from Iran and Republic of Tatarstan (autonomous republic of west-central Russia) are expected to attend the opening ceremony of the project, he said.
