Russia Sberbank eyes E. European buy -agencies
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's largest bank Sberbank is considering acquiring a large east European bank as part of its global expansion plan, Russian agencies reported on Friday.
"We are examining the possibility of such acquisitions in eastern Europe which could secure our presence in several countries at the same time," RIA news agency quoted Sberbank's senior vice president Denis Bugrov as saying.
Earlier this week in Singapore Sberbank chief executive German Gref, Russia's former economy minister, said the bank wanted access to markets in 20 countries over the next five years.
