Russia/Venezuela one billion US dollars arms deal

Russia's Defence minister announced Friday a deal to sell Venezuela over a billion US dollars in jet fighters and military helicopters. "The deal has been closed for the delivery of 30 Sujoi Su-30 jet fighters and for an equal number of helicopters" announced Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov adding the contract involved over a billion US dollars. India to buy more spy planes from Russia

June 18, 2006 15:34 ISTTo bolster the navy's reconnaissance capabilities, India is to buy more IL-38 spy planes from Russia and the decks for the supply would be cleared during Naval Chief Admiral Arun Prakash's week-long visit to Moscow starting on Monday. Navy plans to buy two more IL-38 maritime reconnaissance aircraft from Russia to strengthen its depleted spy plane fleet hit by crashes of the IL-38 aircraft. Moscow ABM interceptor sites

Satellite images at Google Earth helped identify several ABM interceptor sites located around Moscow. Unfortunately, only short-range interceptor site are close enough to the city to get inside the high-resolution area. Here they are: 1. Lytkarino - 16 interceptors2. Sofrino - 12 interceptors3. Korolev - 12 interceptors4. Skhodnya - 16 interceptors5. Vnukovo - 12 interceptors These are short-range 53T6 interceptors - 68 of them overall. These are probably all 53T6 that are out there. Projet An-70 et Krasnopol-M

La Russie a pris définitivement la décision de se retirer du projet conjoint avec l'Ukraine du concernant la construction d'avion de transport militaire An-70. PARIS, le 12 juin. (ARMS-TASS). Les livraisons pour l'armée française des obus guidés d'artillerie "Krasnopol-M" peuvent commencer en 2007. Le contrat signé entre la DGA et le Bureaud'études de Toula prévoie la livraison de 500 obus guidés.
