Russian giant may sell direct to UK

Analysts have speculated that Gazprom could attempt a takeover of Centrica The company, which provides a quarter of Europe's wholesale gas to domestic suppliers, is reported to be mulling plans to cut out the middle man and sell direct to households in Britain - the only fully liberalised energy market in Europe. Russia launches new nuclear submarine

SEVERODVINSK (northern Russia), April 15 (RIA Novosti) - A fourth-generation strategic nuclear submarine was launched during a special ceremony at a shipbuilding yard in northern Russia Sunday. The Yury Dolgoruky, a Borey-class nuclear missile submarine, was built at the Sevmash plant in the northern Arkhangelsk Region. It will be equipped with the Bulava ballistic missile, which is adapted from the Topol-M (SS-27). Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Peugeot and Great Wall Willing to Assemble Cars in Russia

By the end of April Russian Ministry for Economic Development is to conduct final negotiations with the world's car making concerns that are planning to start industrial assembling of their automobiles in the territory of Russia. United air transportation company to appear in Russia

Soon a new united air transportation company under the name of AirUnion will be created in Russia. The company will consolidate state and private assets in order to form an air carrier able to compete with Aeroflot, the largest Russian airline. The controlling interest will belong to individual shareholders. AirUnion presently amalgamates five Russian companies: KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Omskavia, Samara and Sibaviatrans. Italian helicopters to be assembled in Russia 11.04.2007

Russian military industrial complex "Oboronprom" and Italian Agusta Westland have started negotiations on licensed assembling of AW 139 helicopters with take-off weight of 6 tons, reports the Kommersant Newspaper. The agreement will be signed in May. Now the matter concerns partial assembly, but the plant is going to settle full production process. The cost of the project hasn't been set yet. Merrill Lynch gets Russia brokerage license

MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. Merrill Lynch (NYSE:MER - news) has received a brokerage and dealing license in Russia, the country's market regulator said on Wednesday amidst a race among investment banks to capitalize on the Russian boom. India's Krasnopol 155mm LGM Shells: Defective

In December 2006, The Indian Express reported that India's Russian Krasnopol 155mm laser-guided shells have displayed defective performance during Army test-firing in the Mahajan ranges in Rajasthan in 2004 and 2005.
