United air transportation company to appear in Russia
Soon a new united air transportation company under the name of AirUnion will be created in Russia. The company will consolidate state and private assets in order to form an air carrier able to compete with Aeroflot, the largest Russian airline. The controlling interest will belong to individual shareholders.
AirUnion presently amalgamates five Russian companies: KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Omskavia, Samara and Sibaviatrans. KrasAir initiated formation of the new company AirUnion in 2005.
The air fleet of the parties consists of 12 foreign-made airplanes. Hopefully, the changes will make the service better and raise safety standards.
